Both examine the value of citizenship and the preciousness of freedom. 11/12/2008Spring Meeting to Consider Health Care: Suggestions SoughtHARTFORD -- The Spring Session of the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Connecticut Conference United Church of Christ, which will be held at the Asylum Hill Congregational Church UCC in Hartford on May 9, takes as its theme the world of health care. An invitation to a keynote speaker has been extended, but has not yet been confirmed. The planning committee seeks input on potential topics, resources, and ministries that might be highlighted during the meeting. 11/12/2008Report from Jerusalem: Seeing a Home DestroyedJERUSALEM -- Following Election Day, elated and proud of my American accent, I jumped on the bus to work, excited to celebrate with my fellow American colleagues at Sabeel in East Jerusalem. However, when I got there, they were missing. Somewhat annoyed that I was unable to share my feeling that all was now right with the world, I sat down at my computer, too fidgety to work.
